Our tailor-made DIY Lantern Challenge is a new team building event created in early 2016 that forms part of our unique and popular Amazing Race Series! Alternatively the DIY Lantern Challenge can be customized as a standalone activity or combined with a more leisurely scenic hike and sightseeing in the local area.

Set only in selected areas throughout Taiwan & Thailand, the DIY Lantern Challenge combines the fantastic local culture, history and beautiful scenery of the event venue with individual & team creativity, teamwork, communication and problem solving to deliver a fun & active workshop that is quickly becoming one of our most popular team building events!

The famous sky lanterns are said to date back to the Three Kingdoms period (AD 220-265) when they were first used to transmit military information between command posts. Nowadays people decorate and release the sky lanterns into the air as a prayer for the coming year and hopes for good luck, with the sight of the sky lanterns rising in the the air a very special moment.

The DIY Lantern Challenge combined with our Amazing Race or organized as a separate workshop is perfect for multinational client groups who want to get out of the city & into the beautiful outdoors whilst impressing their participants with a famous cultural highlight that is hugely enjoyable!

Including traveling time, the DIY Lantern Challenge & Amazing Race will typically last 3-4 to a full day. A lot of clients also include a wonderful dinner with our awards session to complete a super day out.

There are various ways to incorporate the DIY Lantern Challenge into your team building event. The most popular format is to combine with our famous Amazing Race which creates an exciting and fun full day team building activity:

Option 1

• Commence with 1hr customized DIY Lantern Workshop where participants work together in teams of 4 or build and decorate a sky lantern with instruction and assistance from our teachers. Once complete the lanterns are released together as a large group into the sky.
• After the DIY Lantern Workshop we introduce the Amazing Race for participants to work together and complete checkpoints in the nearby area in a fun combination of team building and sightseeing.
• Post event there are options to include dinner photo slideshow, race answers & team awards.

Option 2

• If your team is on a tighter schedule we can include a special lantern checkpoint as part of the Amazing Race where participants still get to decorate & release the famous sky lanterns.

Option 3

• If your team prefers a more relaxed & leisurely event, we can start with the DIY Lantern Workshop and finish with a sightseeing tour of the local area followed by lunch or dinner.
